Nower Hill is a happy, hardworking school. We are here to ensure that every student achieves as much as possible during their journey with us. We want our students to enjoy their education so that they value learning and can look back in later years with warmth and fondness on their time at Nower Hill.
We demand and achieve high standards in all areas of school life within a disciplined, secure, caring and stimulating environment. We value and praise the successes of our students and staff. The school is held in high esteem by the local community and, as a consequence, is very popular and oversubscribed.
In September 2006 we opened a 6th Form and I am delighted to note that six years later we have nearly 400 6th Form students studying a wide range of ‘A’ levels. In September 2009 we opened a superb £3 million plus 6th Form Centre on our site. Our 6th Form works in partnership with other local schools and colleges as part of the Harrow Collegiate.
In September 2010 Nower Hill became an 11-18 school when we welcomed, for the first time, a Year 7 cohort. In August 2012 we converted to an academy along with 6 other High Schools in Harrow. We have, therefore, completed our transformation from a 12-16 school of 1200 students in 2005 to an 11-18 school of 1900 students today.
In May 2012 Nower Hill had a full Ofsted inspection. The judgements were:
|Achievement of pupils||Outstanding (1)|
|Quality of teaching||Outstanding (1)|
|Behaviour and safety of pupils||Outstanding (1)|
|Leadership and management||Outstanding (1)|
|Overall effectiveness||Outstanding (1)|
We are, of course, delighted with these judgements – you can read the full Ofsted Inspection report via the link on our website.
We are absolutely determined to ensure that Nower Hill goes from strength to strength. We are committed to continuous improvement and resolute in our pursuit of all round excellence. We have a clear vision, clear aims and a strong set of values at the heart of our work.
I look forward to hearing from you.
